The Art of Networking

Come out and join us Sunday, June 9th at the Downtown Metropolitan Library, and learn The Art of Networking! One of the most critical skills in business, networking can help build your company if executed properly. Developing and maintaining relationships with others for the purpose of mutual benefit can help you secure leads, gain access to needed information and resources, and create business partnerships. While crucial to have in your arsenal of talents, many individuals feel uncomfortable with, or unskilled in, networking. Given the importance of networking for business owners, we discuss the benefits and challenges of networking and end with the opportunity to practice what you’ve learned.

Networking represents proactive attempts by individuals to develop and maintain personal and professional relationships with others for the purpose of mutual benefit. Effective networking relationships are built on trust which develops over time as individuals have positive interactions and support one another. One of OBE’s missions is to help African American entrepreneurs start, grow, and expand their business through individual efforts as well as coordinated collaborations.
